She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, with skill in German and Russian. Her Italian is clear and she has a northern Italian accent, from Milan. I have studied with her for over five years. She structures her sessions according to the priorities of the student. My interest is more for conversation, so each session is an elaborate conversation in which she notes new words or expressions. Then, she summarizes the new vocabulary and I review words, quiz myself and write them into sentences. Eva has a wide range of interests, from books, cinema, travel, and Italian cuisine. She has interesting insights into Italian life and culture, and is always honest. It is not a sugar-coated view of Italian life. I always look forward to the next session. I highly recommend Eva to students of all levels, from beginner to expert. Eva is an extraordinary teacher of languages. She knows that to learn a language you need to enjoy it, but at the same time, you need to challenge yourself, and she is brilliant at finding the recipe that balances each of these objectives. In recent years, I've especially enjoyed doing writing and conversation lessons with Eva. She is an insightful and sensitive commentator, and my use of the language feels increasingly "natural" and my own, thanks to her. Rather than rigidly telling you what you must say, she collaborates with you to work out the tone that you're aspiring to, and how that can best be rendered in Italian. It is a real pleasure taking lessons with Eva, and I highly recommend her teaching method to all languages students.
